Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 c. margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. old-fashioned oatmeal
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 12 oz. chocolate chips
- 1 (4 oz.) bar Hershey candy, grated
- 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- Cream margarine and sugars.
- Add eggs and beat well.
- Add vanilla.
- Put oatmeal, a little at a time, in blender or food processor; process to a fine powder.
- Combine oatmeal powder, flour, baking powder and baking soda.
- Add combined dry ingredients to creamed mixture; blend well.
- Add chocolate chips, grated Hershey bar and nuts to dough.
- Form dough into walnut-sized balls; place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 8 minutes.
- Cookies should be barely brown and look a little underdone when removed from oven.
- They set up as they cool.
- Makes 7 dozen.
