Hint Of Honey Loaves(Makes 4 Loaves)

  1. Dissolve yeast in water.
  2. Pour milk over shortening, honey and salt; cool to lukewarm.
  3. Stir in 2 cups flour.
  4. Add dissolved yeast and oats; mix well.
  5. Stir in enough additional flour to make soft dough.
  6. Turn out onto lightly floured surface; knead 8 to 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
  7. Shape to form ball.
  8. Place in greased large bowl, turning once to coat surface of dough. Cover; let rise in warm place about 1 hour or until double in half; roll out each half to form a 15 x 9-inch rectangle.
  9. Roll up, starting with narrow ends; press together ends and seam to seal.
  10. Place in 2 greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
  11. Brush lightly with melted butter.
  12. Cover; let rise about 45 minutes or until nearly double in size.
  13. Bake in preheated 375u0b0 oven for about 45 minutes.
  14. Remove from pans and cool on wire rack.
