Grandma'S Casserole
- 2 Tbsp. oleo
- 1 c. onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, cut in strips
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
- 2 c. water
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. wide noodles (uncooked)
- 8 oz. sliced Mozzarella cheese
- Saute onion and green pepper in oleo.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up as it browns.
- Drain grease.
- Add remaining ingredients except noodles and cheese; bring to a boil.
- Simmer 15 minutes.
- Pour some tomato mixture on bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan, then add uncooked noodles.
- Layer like lasagna.
- Place cheese on top.
- Cover pan with aluminum foil.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes. Let cool 15 minutes before cutting.
