Oyster Casserole
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs (Italian style)
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 2/3 c. chopped parsley
- 2/3 c. chopped onion
- Tabasco sauce
- 1 doz. large or 2 doz. small oysters
- seasoned salt and butter
- 3/4 c. wine
- 3/4 c. light cream
- 1 c. American cheese
- Mix first three ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Mix parsley and onion.
- In a 2 to 3-quart casserole put a layer of bread crumb mixture, then layer of parsley and onions.
- Next put a layer of oysters with 1 drop of Tabasco sauce, salt and butter on each oyster.
- Repeat procedure until all is in baking dish.
- End with crumb mixture.
- When you have completed layers gently pour wine and then cream over layers.
- Sprinkle grated cheese over top.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 20 minutes.
