Fastelavens Boller
- 5 c. white flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cardamom
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 1/2 pkg. yeast (dry)
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 stick margarine, melted
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 egg
- Mix together in a bowl the first 4 ingredients.
- Mix together the yeast and warm water. Set aside.
- Heat margarine and milk to lukewarm.
- Melt margarine.
- Scramble 1 egg
- and add a little of the margarine/milk mixture to the egg.
- Pour the yeast into the dry ingredients, then add the rest of the liquids and stir well. I use my Kitchen Aid to knead the dough for a few minutes.
- Let the dough set with a towel over it for about 1 hour.
- Roll out into buns and let rise again about 45 minutes before baking.
- Bake at 425u0b0 for about 10 minutes.
- Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
