Grilled Brown - Sugar Pork Chops
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar firmly packed
- 1/4 cup apple juice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- salt and freshly ground
- black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 6 loin pork chops boneless
- Start fire in grill, placing rack about 6 inches above coals.
- Prepare sauce: When coals are almost ready (medium hot), in 2 quart saucepan, combine brown sugar, apple juice, oil, soy sauce, ginger, salt, and pepper. Bring to boil over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. In small bowl, stir 1/4 cup water into cornstarch to dissolve. Add to mixture. Return to boil, stirring. When mixture is slightly thickened, remove from heat. Prepare pork. Grill pork
- Note: If desired, pork may be broiled.
- Heat broiler; broil chops 6 inches from heat source 5 minutes until almost cooked through, turning once. Brush with sauce; broil 2 minutes longer.
