Hamburger Casserole
- 1 to 1 1/4 lb. ground chuck
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 to 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 (8 oz.) can biscuits
- 1/2 c. chopped green peppers
- 1 1/2 shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1 egg, beaten
- Brown beef, onion and peppers; drain.
- Combine beef mixture, tomato sauce, chili powder and garlic.
- Simmer on medium heat until warm.
- In a small mixing bowl, mix sour cream and egg.
- Add to beef mixture and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Tear biscuits apart in the middle, keeping them round.
- Place biscuits on bottom of greased baking dish, just cover the bottom and save half for the top.
- Pour beef mixture over biscuits; sprinkle half of the cheese over beef mixture.
- Place remaining biscuits on top and sprinkle the top of the biscuits with the remaining cheese.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 25 to 35 minutes.
