Rice Dressing
- 2 lb. breakfast sausage (Owens, Jimmy Dean)
- 2 lb. ground meat
- 1 c. onion
- 1 large green bell pepper
- 1 c. green onion tops
- 3/4 c. parsley
- 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
- 5 large cloves garlic
- 4 cubes chicken bouillon
- 1 qt. water
- 2 jars gravy mix (Heinz homestyle, turkey flavor)
- 4 c. cooked rice
- Prepare chicken broth by combining water and bouillon cubes; simmer.
- Brown sausage and beef.
- Add onion and pepper, cooking until clear.
- Add simmered broth, gravy mix, sugar and garlic cloves; stir frequently to prevent sticking.
- Cook down to a gravy consistency.
- Remove garlic cloves; mash, then return to mixture. Combine with cooked rice.
- Add onion tops and parsley prior to serving.
