Stroganoff Loaf
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1/4 c. sliced black olives
- 1 envelope stroganoff seasoning mix
- 1 unsliced loaf French or Italian bread
- softened butter or margarine
- 1 green pepper, sliced into rings
- cherry tomatoes, halved
- 2 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
- In skillet, cook beef and onion until browned.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Stir in water, sour cream, olives and seasoning mix. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
- Cut bread in half lengthwise.
- Toast bread under broiler until golden.
- Spread cut surface with butter. Spread half of meat mixture on each half of bread.
- Arrange green pepper slices alternately with cherry tomatoes on top.
