Baked Cavatelli
- 2 1/2 c. wagon wheel pasta
- 12 oz. Italian sausage links
- 3/4 c. chopped green onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
- 4 oz. Mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- Cook pasta.
- Slice sausage into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
- Fry sausage.
- Reserve 1 teaspoon fat from sausage to cook onion and garlic in.
- Combine pasta, sausage, sauteed onion and garlic, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce and half of the Mozzarella cheese in a 2-quart casserole.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 25 minutes, covered. Uncover and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
