Argentinian Rolls (Bread Machine Recipe)

  1. To prepare in a bread maker, place all the ingredients in the bread maker, except the butter, and set to 'dough.'
  2. Once the program has finished, turn out the dough onto a floured work surface, and flatten to release the air bubbles.
  3. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of 2.5 centimeters.
  4. Fold over in half, roll out again, and then fold over once more.
  5. Cover with a clean towel and leave to rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  7. Roll out the dough again to a thickness of 1.5 centimeters.
  8. With a pasta cutter or upturned glass of about 8 centimeters, cut out circles from the dough and place on the baking tray.
  9. Cover with a damp towel and leave to rest for at least 1 hour until doubled in size.
  10. Preheat the oven to 250C.
  11. Place a pan with damp cloths in the oven to produce steam.
  12. Brush the rolls with butter, and lower the temperature to 210C.
  13. Cook for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
