Black Pepper Focaccia Bread (Bread Machine Recipe)
- 1 5/16 cups water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2/3 tablespoon salt
- 3/4 tablespoon sugar
- 2 1/2 cups durum wheat flour
- 1 7/16 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon yeast brewer's
- 15 black peppercorns coarsely crushed
- 5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 4 tablespoons warm water
- salt
- Place the water, oil, salt, sugar, durum wheat flour, '0' flour, yeast, and peppercorns in the bread machine and set it to the kneading function. Leave the dough in the machine for an additional 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough, place it in a greased baking sheet, and let it rest for another 60 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220C.
- Press your fingers into the dough making many indentations then, combine the oil with the water and the salt and brush the mixture all over the dough.
- Bake for approximately 18 to 20 minutes.
- Remove the bread from the oven and serve.
