Ham And Potato Au Gratin

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Boil the potatoes for 10 minutes, and drain.
  3. In a 2-quart casserole dish, layer the potatoes, ham, and mushrooms.
  4. In a medium saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of the butter over medium heat.
  5. Stir the flour into the melted butter, blending thoroughly.
  6. Slowly add the milk and stir until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Turn off the heat, and fold in the cheese and sour cream.
  8. Pour the sauce mixture over the casserole.
  9. In a small bowl, microwave the remaining tablespoon of butter until melted. Add the bread crumbs, and stir until well mixed.
  10. Spread the bread crumb mixture over the casserole.
  11. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until the casserole is hot and bubbly.
