Cumin And Garam Masala Minced Beef Curry

  1. Finely mince onion. Roughly chop whole tomatoes. Peel and grate ginger and garlic.
  2. Put 1 1/2 T cooking oil in a heavy pan and add onion and cumin seeds. Heat slowly and stir. Add tomatoes and continue heating.
  3. Put 1 1/2 T cooking oil in a frying pan. Add ginger and garlic and heat to release their aroma. Add beef and stir-fry. Add turmeric and soy sauce. Transfer the ingredients from the frying pan to the heavy pan.
  4. Add 2 cups water to the heavy pan and cook over a high flame. Reduce heat when it boils. Cook for an additional 20 minutes. Add garam masala and season with a pinch of salt.
  5. May be served with buttered rice
