Pepped Up Porridge - Fruity & Nutty
- 1/2 cup wheat broken, or daliya/ dalia, I used the smaller grains
- 2 cups water
- 350 milliliters milk
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 1/2 tablespoons apples chopped
- 1 1/2 tablespoons papaya chopped
- 1 banana large, chopped
- 1 mango small
- 1 1/2 tablespoons almonds soaked overnight, chopped
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar or to taste OR honey, to taste
- In a pan, roast the broken wheat till it becomes golden brown.
- Add water to it and cook till it softens.
- Add milk and fennel seeds.
- Cook till milk and broken wheat are well incorporated and start to thicken just a little bit.
- Add sugar to it and stir till for 10-15 seconds.
- Remove from the fire and cool it.
- Once cooled add the chopped fruit and almonds.
