Italian Gravy
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 1 whole onion
- Italian tomatoes 3 lg. cans plump whole
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 5 pounds beef
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups Italian bread crumbs
- salt
- pepper
- 3 pounds sausage
- 2 pounds spare ribs
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 4 water paste cans full of
- Put 3 tablespoons oil in bottom of 5 quart pot.
- Cut up whole onion and brown.
- Remove onion.
- Take 3 large cans plump whole Italian tomatoes and puree in blender.
- Then add 1 large can crushed tomatoes and pour into pot.
- Add sugar and spices to taste.
- Let simmer on real low flame.
- Mix meatballs with beef, veal, pork mix and add eggs, bread crumbs, and spices.
- Mix well.
- Shape into balls and fry.
- Set aside.
