Double-Chocolate Fudge Squares
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/3 c. butter or oleo
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- In a small bowl, mix flour and soda.
- Set aside.
- In a small saucepan, combine butter, sugar and water.
- Bring just to a boil; remove from heat.
- Add 1 cup chocolate pieces and vanilla and stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
- Transfer to a medium bowl.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
- Gradually add flour mixture, beating until smooth. Stir in remaining chocolate pieces and the nuts.
- Spread in greased 9-inch square baking pan.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for about 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool completely on wire rack.
- Cut in 16 squares.
