Homemade Sugar Cookies

  1. Add the flour to a skillet. On a low heat, toast slowly until the flour becomes brown, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the flour to cool.
  2. Sift the flour into a bowl.
  3. Grind the almonds in a food processor into powder. Add to another bowl and mix with the sugar.
  4. Add the flour to the sugar and add the lard and cinnamon. Use an electric mixer and blend until a thick dough forms. Refrigerate for 1 hour so the dough hardens.
  5. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1 1/2- to 2-centimeter thickness. Use a cookie cutter and cut out the cookies. Place the cookies on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove the cookies and allow to cool on a baking rack.
