Noodles With Herb Sauce

  1. Cook the noodles in plenty of boiling salted water for about 10 minutes until tender.
  2. Meanwhile put the garlic and pine nuts into a mortar and crush them.
  3. Transfer them to a bowl and mix with the basil and marjoram.
  4. Stir in the oil and water and season with salt.
  5. Mash the cheese with a fork add to the herb mixture with the cream.
  6. Stir until smooth.
  7. Drain the noodles return them to the pan and toss in the butter.
  8. Place on a hot dish and serve with the herb sauce poured over.
