Pepper Steak
- 1 lb. (1/2-inch) sirloin tips, cut in serving pieces
- 2 Tbsp. fat
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, halved
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 1 large green pepper, thinly sliced in rings
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 c. cold water
- hot noodles
- Brown meat slowly in hot fat about 15 minutes.
- Add onion and garlic the last few minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper. Dissolve bouillon cube in hot water; add to meat.
- Cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and green pepper.
- Cook 10 minutes longer.
- Combine cornstarch, cold water and soy sauce and stir into meat mixture.
- Bring to boil, cook and stir 5 minutes longer.
- Remove garlic.
- Serve with hot noodles.
- Can use round steak sprinkled with tenderizer and floured.
- Adjust cooking time.
