Lipton'S Carne Asada Ole
- 16 ounces mild salsa
- 1 envelope Lipton(R) Recipe Secrets(R) Onion Soup Mix
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 pound boneless flank steak
- 1. In a mixing bowl, stir together the salsa, soup mix, lime juice and sugar until blended. Reserve 1 cup of marinade and set aside.
- 2. Place the flank steak into a zipper-top plastic bag, and pour the remaining marinade over the steak. Seal the bag and marinate for at least 8 hours or overnight, turning occasionally.
- 3. Preheat a gas grill or broiler for 10 minutes, remove the steak from the marinade, discard marinade. Grill the steak, brushing frequently with reserved marinade for 5 minutes on one side. Turn and grill another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the meat is grilled to desired doneness. (since grills are all a bit different, it's a good idea to use an instant read meat thermometer to gauge doneness) Remove from the grill, and cut across the grain, on an angle into thin strips. Serve with rice, beans, tortillas, and condiments.
