Easy Crockpot French Onion Soup
- 900 milliliters beef broth Campbell's
- 2 cubes Knorr Beef Bouillon
- 2 yellow onions Large, diced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups croutons
- 2 cups Parmesan cheese
- Heat beef broth and water in a pot and dissolve the beef bouillon cubes in the mixture. For a stronger broth, add an additional bouillon cube.
- Melt butter in a large skillet, then brown your diced onions on medium for about 15 minutes, covering skillet and stirring occasionally.
- Uncover skillet, and add sugar and flour. Stir well to coat onions evenly.
- Add beef broth and browned onions into your crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or cook on high for 3-4 hours.
- Place soup in serving bowl and add croutons and top with shredded Parmesan cheese to individual preference. (Usually half bag of croutons and 2 cups Parmesan used overall) I personally use Western Family Cheese and Garlic croutons, but any flavour is good. Avoid adding croutons directly into the crockpot to prevent them from going "mushy".
- Enjoy!
