Easy Crockpot French Onion Soup

  1. Heat beef broth and water in a pot and dissolve the beef bouillon cubes in the mixture. For a stronger broth, add an additional bouillon cube.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet, then brown your diced onions on medium for about 15 minutes, covering skillet and stirring occasionally.
  3. Uncover skillet, and add sugar and flour. Stir well to coat onions evenly.
  4. Add beef broth and browned onions into your crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or cook on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Place soup in serving bowl and add croutons and top with shredded Parmesan cheese to individual preference. (Usually half bag of croutons and 2 cups Parmesan used overall) I personally use Western Family Cheese and Garlic croutons, but any flavour is good. Avoid adding croutons directly into the crockpot to prevent them from going "mushy".
  6. Enjoy!
