Taco Burgers
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 4 large lettuce leaves
- 8 hamburger buns, split or 8 taco shells, heated
- 1 c. shredded American cheese or Cheddar cheese
- taco sauce
- Cook ground beef until brown. Drain off fat.
- Add tomatoes and their liquid, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, sugar and garlic salt to the skillet.
- Stir with a wooden spoon to break up tomatoes.
- Turn burner to high heat and cook mixture until it boils, stirring a few times.
- Return heat to low and simmer the meat mixture until thick (about 10 minutes).
- Stir mixture a few times to keep from sticking and burning.
