Sweet-N-Sour Meatballs
- 1 lb. hamburg
- 1/2 c. bread crumbs
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 13 oz. pineapple chunks
- 1/3 c. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 small chopped green pepper
- 1 can cherries
- Mix hamburg, bread crumbs, milk, chopped onion, salt, Worcestershire sauce and egg.
- Shape into 20 (1 1/2-inch) balls. Cook meatballs in skillet; remove and drain fat.
- Mix brown sugar and cornstarch in skillet.
- Stir in pineapple (with syrup), vinegar and soy sauce.
- Heat to boiling, stirring.
- Reduce heat; add meatballs.
- Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes.
- Stir in green pepper and cherries (without syrup). Cover and simmer until crisp-tender, 5 minutes.
- Makes 4 servings.
