Sweet And Sour Pork
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 lb. lean pork, cubed
- 1 garlic clove
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. cornstarch
- 2 large green peppers, cut in strips
- dash of red pepper sauce
- 2 Tbsp. sliced onion
- 2 large tomato wedges
- 2 c. pineapple chunks, drained
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. pineapple juice
- 1/2 c. white vinegar
- 1/4 c. ketchup
- 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire
- Combine soy sauce, ginger, salt and garlic.
- Pour over pork and marinate 30 minutes. Dredge pork in cornstarch.
- Cook (in oil), drain.
- Cook vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire and pepper sauce to a boil.
- Add green pepper and onions.
- Add tomatoes and pineapple, 2 tablespoons cornstarch and water. Thicken and pour over hot pork.
- Serve with rice.
