Red Onion, Pepper And Ham Pizza
- 2 1/2 cups flour sifted
- 1/4 ounce active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic crushed
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese sliced
- 5 ounces ham shaved, chopped
- 1 red pepper seeded and thinly sliced
- 2 red onions thinly sliced
- baby spinach for garnish
- For the pizza dough, mix flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Combine 1 cup warm water with 2 tsp of the olive oil; stir into dry ingredients with a wooden spoon, until dough becomes too firm to stir.
- Using hands, form dough into a ball, then turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 2 mins, until smooth and elastic.
- Brush a large bowl with remaining 2 tsp olive oil. Place dough in a bowl, turning to grease all over. Cover with plastic wrap and a clean tea towel. Let stand in a warm place for 1 hour, until doubled in size. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently.
- Preheat the oven to 425u0b0F. Grease 2 baking pans. Halve dough and roll out each piece to a 13 x 9 inch rectangle. Place on prepared pans.
- Brush combined oil and garlic over each pizza crust, leaving a 1/2 inch border around edges. Top with mozzarella, ham, pepper and onion.
- Bake for 15 mins, until pizza is golden and bottom is crisp. Top with spinach and serve.
