Italian Beef Pie
- 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage
- 2 lb. lean chuck (1-inch cubes)
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1/2 c. chili sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 3 c. water
- 4 medium potatoes
- 8 carrots, cut lengthwise (julienne style)
- 1/2 c. fresh Italian green beans or 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen beans
- Cut sausage into 1/2-inch pieces and brown slowly in a skillet.
- Remove from pan.
- Dredge the beef cubes in flour, salt and pepper; brown in the drippings in the skillet.
- Remove from pan and set aside with sausage.
- Saute onion in drippings.
- Place onion, sausage and beef cubes in pot.
- Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Place mixture in 3-quart casserole.
- Cover and bake at 300u0b0 for 2 hours and 20 minutes.
