Whole-Wheat Pasta With Tomato Sauce

  1. In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions, garlic cloves and saute until they begin to soften.
  2. Add tomato pasta, peas, pinch of salt and mix well. Let simmer for 1 - 2 minutes.
  3. Then, add basil, oregano, thyme, brown sugar and mix.
  4. Reduce heat to low, and cook for a 3 - 4 minutes. Set the seasoning to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Cook whole wheat pasta in a large pan boiling salted water for 7 - 9 minutes, or until al dente. Then, drain pasta and place in a large bowl.
  6. Top with tomato sauce, nutritional yeast and fresh basil and serve.
