Spicy Beef Salad With Cilnatro And Lime
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 Thai red chili pepper small, thinly sliced
- 1 clove garlic crushed
- 1 tablespoon coriander root finely chopped fresh
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil
- 4 ounces greens Aisan
- 1 ounce cilantro leaves fresh
- 1 ounce fresh mint leaves
- 4 shallots Thai red, or golden shallots, thinly sliced
- 1/2 pound cherry tomatoes halved
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Cook steak until medium-rare or, or to your liking. Remove from pan, cover and let rest 5 mins. Slice.
- Meanwhile, for the dressing, place lime juice, fish sauce, chili pepper, garlic, coriander root, sugar and peanut oil in a screw-topped jar and shake well.
- To assemble, combine the greens, herbs, shallots, tomatoes and 2/3 of dressing in a large bowl. Toss gently. Divide between serving bowls, top with the warm beef and drizzle with remaining dressing to serve.
