Cheese Krispies
- 2 c. plain flour
- 8 oz. sharp cheese, grated
- 2 sticks soft oleo
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
- 2 c. Rice Krispies
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 lb. Velveeta cheese
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 Tbsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 loaves party rye bread (small, cocktail slices)
- Brown sausage and ground beef; drain.
- In saucepan, melt cheese and add the meat to it.
- Stir in remaining ingredients; cook for 5 minutes.
- Cool slightly.
- Cover; store in refrigerator until serving time.
- When ready to serve, spread on cocktail rye and cook on ungreased cookie sheet at 400u0b0 for approximately 10 minutes.
- Makes approximately 72 slices.
