Chocolate And Wafer Cake
- 7 tablespoons butter
- 3 eggs
- 7/8 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 ounces marsala
- 3/4 cup cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 7/8 cups vanilla wafers
- salt
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Add the butter to a bowl and use a wooden spoon to cream it. Add the egg yolks and mix well.
- Add the sugar, cocoa powder, Marsala, flour, baking powder, and wafers. Mix well.
- Beat the egg whites to stiff peaks with a pinch of salt. Incorporate into the batter by folding them in carefully.
- Butter and flour a round 22-centimeter springform pan. Pour the batter inside. Level it with the back of the spoon.
- Bake the cake for approximately 35 to 40 minutes, then allow it to cool.
- Turn the cake out onto a cake dish and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
