Meatloaf With Poppy Seeds In Puff Pastry
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 1 carrot finely chopped
- ground beef
- pork
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons tomato pulp
- 1 tablespoon rolled oats
- breadcrumbs to taste
- poppy seeds
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- white wine to taste
- ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- ham slices
- 1 puff pastry
- 1 egg beaten
- poppy seeds
- chives
- coriander
- parsley
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Mix the onion with the garlic and carrot.
- Mix in the ground beef, egg, tomato pulp, oats, breadcrumbs, poppy seeds, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle with a little white wine. Shape the meat in a roll, and place in a roasting pan.
- Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard, and cover the entire meat loaf with this mixture. Divide the meatloaf in half. Place a slice of ham on top of 1 half, and wrap it in puff pastry, brush the pastry with a beaten egg. Garnish both rolls with chopped chives, coriander, parsley and poppy seeds.
- Bake for 1 hour.
- Serve with a salad, and homemade mashed potatoes.
