Moong Dal Ke Pakode
- 1 cup moong dal /Green Gram
- 2 green chillies Chopped
- 1 onion finely Chopped
- 1/2 inch ginger Chopped
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
- water as required
- salt as required
- oil for deep frying or shallow frying
- Soak Moong Dal in water for 3 to 4 hours or for whole night if time permits.
- Drain them out of water the next day and rinse.
- Then add Moong Dal, Chopped Green Chillies, Ginger to the Mixer Jar and Grind them to a smooth paste.
- Grind Black Pepper and Coriander Seeds. Add this powder to the Moong Dal batter. Season it with some salt and then mix it well.
- Then add finely chopped onions to the batter.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
- Then drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry till crisp or golden brown.
- Serve it hot or warm with chutney of your choice or with tomato sauce. Even without any dips this one tastes great.
