Beef Parmesan
- round steak
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
- 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- garlic, crushed
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 4 slices Mozzarella or grated cheese
- Cut steak into serving pieces.
- Mix flour, salt and pepper and dredge meat in seasoned flour.
- Pound meat on both sides.
- Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese and basil.
- Dip meat into egg and water mixture, then dredge in crumb mixture, coating evenly.
- Brown in oil; drain on paper towels and place in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Combine tomato sauce, garlic, sugar and oregano.
- Pour over meat.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until tender.
- Remove foil and top each piece of meat with Mozzarella cheese.
- Bake additional 3 to 5 minutes until cheese melts.
