Swiss Steak Parmesan
- 2 lb. round steak
- 3/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
- 1/4 lb. mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 c. red wine
- Combine the Parmesan cheese with the next 6 ingredients. Pound as much of the mixture as possible into both sides of the meat.
- Cut the steak into serving portions and brown in 1/4 cup oil in Dutch oven. Keep meat warm while preparing the sauce. Saute the onion and mushrooms.
- Add remaining ingredients and cook for 10 minutes. Return meat to Dutch oven.
- Cover tightly.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese before serving.
- Serves 4 to 6.
