Onion Rings @Home Made
- 1 yellow onion
- 6 all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup milk
- salt to taste
- pepper powder to taste
- dried herbs Optional
- bread crumbs I chose multi grain bread crumbs which gave my rings a dark color 1/2 cup
- oil for shallow frying
- Cut the onion into 1/2 inch width rings , and separate the rings . Now place them in a ziploc or paper bag , and toss in 2 table spoons of all purpose flour and baking soda . Close the bag and toss it well such that the mixture is coated and distributed evenly on rings
- Refrigerate the bag atleast for 30 minutes .
- Take a bowl mix in together milk, all purpose flour , salt and pepper powder , to make a thin consistency batter. Mean while heat oil for shallow frying.
- After 30 minutes , take out the rings dip in the batter , then in the bread crumbs , such that they make a coat on the rings . Set aside , for the crumbs to stick to the batter .
- When the oil is medium hot , fry the rings , until golden brown .
- Bloat the extra oil ,and sprinkle in some dried herbs . Serve hot with favorite sauce or dips .
