Spicy Pork Steaks With Apple-Mustard Sauce
- 4 pork blade steaks 3/4-1 inch thick
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 onions medium, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup apple juice OR apple cider
- 1 tablespoon apple jelly
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1/3 cup dried apple diced
- Stir together spices and rub on steaks. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat; add onion and cook and stir until onion is soft but not brown, about 3 minutes. Push onion to one side of pan; add steaks and brown, about 1 1/2-2 minutes on each side. Add apple juice, dried apples, jelly and mustard, stir to blend well. Bring to a boil, cover, lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes until internal temperature on a thermometer reads 160 degrees F.
