Baked Devil'S Float(In Honor Of The Senator)
- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. granulated (white) sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 5 Tbsp. cocoa or 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 c. hot water
- Sift first 5 dry ingredients together.
- Add milk, vanilla, butter and nuts.
- Pour into a well-greased 9 x 9-inch baking dish. Mix the 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup light brown sugar, 5 tablespoons cocoa and the cup of hot (boiling) water together and pour over the batter in the baking dish.
- Bake in a 350u0b0
- oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Serve upside down.
- Can be served slightly warm or completely cooled.
- Good topped with whipped cream, or served with ice cream.
