Back-To-School Pencil Cookies
- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. Gold Medal all-purpose flour
- 1 can Betty Crocker Creamy Deluxe ready to spread vanilla frosting
- yellow food coloring
- red food coloring
- approximately 5 doz. miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
- approximately 5 doz. small gumdrops
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- Mix margarine and cream cheese in a large bowl.
- Stir in sugar and vanilla.
- Stir in flour.
- Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 3-inch logs, tapering one end slightly to resemble pencil points.
- Place two inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake approximately 10 minutes or until set but not brown.
- Cool.
