Meatballs With Sweet And Sour Sauce
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 envelope sweet and sour mix, dissolved in 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 onion (1/2 chopped and 1/2 quartered)
- 1 red bell pepper, quartered
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 c. cooking oil
- 1/2 tsp. Accent (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. ground pepper
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 lb. ground pork or beef
- 2 eggs
- Combine meat, salt, pepper, Accent, chopped onion and eggs in a bowl and mix well.
- Freeze for about 1 hour.
- Form the mixture into balls about 3/4-inch in diameter.
- Roll them lightly in flour and deep fry.
- In a saucepan, saute garlic, quartered onion and bell pepper.
- Add sweet and sour mix; stir and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
- Pour sauce over meatballs and serve.
