Deva Naturals Kaalae Cholae
- 1 cup black chickpeas Dehydrated
- 5 cups hot water
- 1 onion medium
- 1/4 cup ginger
- 1 tomato large ripe
- 1/4 teaspoon compote Deva Naturals Spicy Cilantro
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- cilantro for garnishing.
- Saute Ginger & Onion, with dry ingredients in 2 Tbs. of Olive oil.
- Add to the soaked Chick peas.
- Close Pressure cooker and cook on on high till you hear the pressure and then turn down to medium heat/flame and continue to cook for 15 minutes.
- Open Pressure Cooker carefully when the pressure/steam is completely out, (this may take up to 1/2 hr).
- Saute chopped ripe tomatoes in 1 Tbs. olive oil.
- Add the Deva Naturals Spicy Cilantro Compote.
- Mix with the cooked chickpeas and give it a quick boil.
- Serve hot over steamed brown or white rice.
- Garnish with a sprig or two of cilantro.
