Easy American-Style Spaghetti Bolognese

  1. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a saucepan and saute onion and garlic.
  2. Add ground meat.
  3. Stir often and break up clumps, so that meat cooks evenly.
  4. Cover with lid and simmer.
  5. When meat is almost cooked, add canned tomatoes.
  6. Tip: For a thinner sauce, use 400 ml tomato puree instead of diced tomatoes.
  7. Stir sauce and cook for a few more minutes, then add sugar, red wine vinegar and dried oregano.
  8. Cook spaghetti or other pasta in plenty of boiling, salted water until al dente.
  9. Drain pasta.
  10. Serve sauce over pasta.
