- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 head red cabbage shredded
- 2 Granny Smith apples mediums, quartered, cored, and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons dill weed fresh, chopped
- salt
- black pepper
- Warm the vegetable oil in a large skillet over moderate heat. Add the onion slices and saute until soft, about 4 minutes. Add the minced garlic, then saute the mixture for about another minute more.
- Stir in the shredded red cabbage; cover and saute about 5 minutes, or until cabbage is wilted. Add the apples, vinegar, honey, and dill weed. Stir well and continue to cook until apples are tender, about 8 to 12 minutes. Season with a bit of salt and pepper to taste, before serving warm.
