Date And Almond Torte

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together thoroughly before adding egg.
  3. Sift together dry ingredients separately and incorporate by thirds into butter/sugar mixture
  4. Fold in dates and almonds; batter will be thick and firm.
  5. Turn into a greased 9 inch pie or cake pan and spread smooth.
  6. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes, until just brown.
