Will'S Favorite Apple Cobbler
- 1/2 c. margarine or butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. sifted self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 c. peeled and finely chopped apples
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Melt butter in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- In medium saucepan, heat sugar and water until sugar melts. Cut shortening in flour.
- Add milk; stir with a fork.
- Turn out onto floured board and knead until smooth.
- Roll out dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
- Sprinkle apples over dough; sprinkle cinnamon over apples.
- Roll up dough like a jelly roll.
- Slice dough into slices, about 1/2-inch thick.
- Place in pan with melted butter.
- Pour sugar syrup around rolls.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
