Broccoli In Strawberry Sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic chopped
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon basil leaves chopped
- 1/2 cup scallions
- 3 cups strawberries chopped
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon sauce Worchester, low sodium
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- Heat oil in a nonstick wok/pan and add garlic, sesame seeds and basil.
- Just when the seeds start to crackle add scallions and Sautee well.
- Add strawberries, mix, and cover and cook until the strawberries start to release its juice.
- Add maple syrup and mix. When the strawberries are soft mash them in the pan with a food masher. (Make sure to mash the strawberries very well).
- Add rest of the ingredients to the strawberry sauce (except broccoli).
- Once it comes to a boil fold in broccoli and make sure that the all the broccoli florets are properly coated.
- Cover again and cook till broccoli softens a bit. (Should not my mushy and the crunchy texture should be maintained).
- Serve hot over your choice of rice/quinoa.
