Chile Con Carne

  1. Wash beans and soak overnight.
  2. Drain and cover with cold water.
  3. Bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes. Drain. Cover with cold water. Add salt and cook until beans are tender.
  4. Pour 1/2 water off.
  5. Mince garlic and stir through beans.
  6. Saute onions
  7. in ground beef suet until soft and limp. Add meat to onions and cook until meat is brown. Add onions and meat to beans. Stir together. Add tomato juice, chili powder and cayenne. Bring to a boil.
  8. Let boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  9. Add more salt, chili powder and cayenne to taste, if desired.
  10. Let chile stand to bring out flavor.
