Squash Pie Recipe| No Ginger Added| Bonus Homemade Crust Recipe

  1. Peel skin of squash then cut into cubes.
  2. Line a brownie dish, or any baking dish with foil, then put squash in pan, add 1/2 cup water to squash then cover with foil. Bake for 25 mins or until squash is soft.
  3. Use a blender to mix ingredients.
  4. Add all of the ingredients for the squash pie filling in a blender, or food processor(no specific order needed) blend well.

  6. Combine flour, and salt. Mix well.
  7. Create a well (hole in the center of flour) within the flour then- using a tablespoon at a time add ice water until pie crust sticks together.
  8. Mix well. Do not over work the dough!
  9. Add the half of cup of shortening, and butter to the mixture by scraping it out one at a time with a butter knife.
  10. Mix mixture with hands well.
  11. Separate the dough into two balls.
  12. Wrap each ball of dough with plastic wrap, then flatten them into a disc leaving a inch of thickness.
  13. Refrigerate for an hour.
  14. After refrigeration, lightly flour rolling pin and a smooth surface then roll out dough place on empty 9" pie dish. Then Voila! You have your homemade pie crust.
  15. Pour pie filling into pie crust
  16. Bake for 56 mins or until toothpick, or fork comes out clean.
