Chocolate Crispie Cakes
- 3 7/8 tablespoons butter
- 2 9/16 tablespoons golden syrup
- 5/8 cup milk chocolate
- 2 3/4 cups cornflakes or 100g Rice Krispies
- 7 7/8 tablespoons raisins optional
- Put the butter, syrup and broken up chocolate into a mixing bowl. You can either heat this over a large saucepan of simmer water on the stove or in the microwave.
- Once the butter, syrup and chocolate have melted stop heating and continue to stir for a few seconds.
- Add your cornflakes or rice krispies at this stage and mix well using a wooden spoon.
- Carefully spoon the mixture into 12 cupcake cases.
- Once you have all the mixture in the cases you may wish to add some decorative chocolate to the top, some of the things I have found to work best are mini eggs, maltesers or twirl bites.
- Finally place the crispie cakes in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour (I usually leave them longer to ensure they are fully set).
