Black Bean Turkey Burgers
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/4 cup refried black beans
- 1 jalapeno deseeded and diced
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh corn
- 1 zest of lime
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ground pepper Fresh
- 6 burger buns ciabatta, I used President's Choice
- 1 avocado sliced
- 1 tomato sliced
- 1 handful fresh cilantro
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh lime juice
- Using your spotlessly clean hands combine turkey, black beans, jalapeno, corn, cilantro, egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Set aside.
- In a small bowl mix mayo, sriracha sauce and lime juice into a uniform mixture. Set aside.
- Heat your BBQ to medium heat or heat a small amount of oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
- Form meat mixture into 4-6 patties and place them on the grill or pan.
- Cook burgers until done. About 3-4 minutes a side.
- Place the finished patties in ciabatta buns and top with spicy mayo, avocado and tomato slices and some fresh cilantro.
- Serve with corn on the cob.
